Lead-acid Batteries

A lead-acid battery is a common chemical battery that uses the chemical reaction between lead and lead oxide to store electrical energy. In a lead-acid battery, the anode is lead and the cathode is lead oxide, separated by an electrolyte. This article will introduce the types and characteristics of lead-acid batteries.

Floating Lead-acid Battery

Floating Lead-acid Battery is a long-life battery, usually used in UPS power supply, solar system, and other occasions that require a long-term power supply. It has a high discharge depth, that is, it can output most of the capacity of electric energy. Float-charged lead-acid batteries also have the characteristics of a low self-discharge rate, that is, the charge inside the battery remains relatively stable when not in use. This makes the Floating Lead-acid Battery a suitable power source for long-term storage and backup.

Car Start-Stop Battery

Car Start-stop Battery are one of the most common types of lead acid batteries and they are commonly used in vehicles such as cars and trucks. The main characteristics of this battery are high starting current and low depth of discharge. As high currents need to be provided instantaneously to start the engine, the design is usually focused on starting performance rather than long-term service life.

Deep cycle Battery

Deep cycle batteries are another type of lead-acid battery that are commonly used in equipment such as boats, golf carts and electric trolleys. Their main feature is that they can withstand multiple charge and discharge cycles, resulting in a long service life. Compared to vehicle starter batteries, deep cycle batteries have a greater depth of discharge and can therefore provide power for longer periods of time.

Valve Regulated Sealed Lead-acid Batteries

This type of lead-acid battery is used in applications where a high degree of stability is required, such as UPS systems for computers. They have a similar construction to immersion lead-acid batteries, but with a pressure relief valve in the housing to allow gas to escape. This helps to keep the pressure inside the battery stable, thus improving the safety and stability of the battery.

For more than 20 years, JYC has been conducting in-depth research in the field of lead-acid batteries. To date, JYC has several series of lead-acid batteries, including GP series, DC series, GEL series, car start-stop series and many other series to meet the needs of customers for different battery applications.
